We hope you've been enjoying this snowy weather! Although being able
to go out skiing was a lovely treat, the single digit temperatures out
here had us really worried about the greens in our high tunnels --
YOUR greens, I should say.
But, in some sort of serendipitous surprise, the world has warmed
today and the greens have unfrozen! We're going to harvest them right
now. We will not have Brussels sprouts, because they perished out in
the field in the freezing temperatures. This is a somewhat new time of
year for us to be growing and harvesting, so we're thinking that next
year we'd like to harvest those earlier and keep them in storage.
We will be bringing your shares to the Westy tonight, and you can pick
them up anytime between 5 and 7. If you still have your first wax
boxes from your November CSA shares, PLEASE BRING THEM BACK to us!
They cost us money and we'd like to not have to pass those costs on to
you folks. Thanks in advance! They can be unfolded neatly and stored
flat so they stay out of the way.
If you'd like us to NOT bring your share to the Westy, please e-mail
us today by 3 and let us know, if you haven't already, and you can
pick up on the farm on Friday or Saturday.
For now, we're not exactly sure what we'll be harvesting out of the
greenhouses and packing from the cooler, so you may receive something
different than someone else, or not receive something we have written
on the list. But fear not, it will be fresh and delicious.
What's expected in the shares this week:
Spicy Salad Mix
ROOTS, ETC FORECAST
Purple Top Turnips
Thanks for your support! See you soon . . . and Happy Holidays!
